THE MEMBER FOR VERDUN AND MINISTER FOR ONLINE GOVERNMENT HENRI-FRANÇOIS GAUTRIN IS PROUD TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ACTION SURVEILLANCE VERDUN WEBSITE
Verdun, September 16, 2005 - Henri-François Gautrin, Member for Verdun and Minister for Online Government, announced today the granting of $2,000 to Action Surveillance Verdun, to ensure the development of its Website. “This amount will enable the organization to reach more citizens and more efficiently fulfil its primary mission, which is to improve the quality of life of citizens by preventing criminality in our constituency,” emphasized Mr. Gautrin.
This organization, in partnership with the community Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), offers several services to the population, such as preventive home visits, labelling personal property and workshops on prevention and street security. The implementation of a Website will provide Action Surveillance Verdun with easier access to its resources while providing citizens with more information on the steps that can be taken to improve their security, as well as projects that are made available to them, such as a neighbourhood watch.
“In my opinion, it is very important to encourage projects that involve new information and communications technologies (NICT), especially when they help to improve the well-being of the people in my constituency,” concluded Minister Gautrin.
